Rivals.com updated its national position rankings for the 2014 football class this week.
Eight of the University of Louisville’s 14 commitments are nationally ranked at their positions. Six of the University of Kentucky’s seven commitments are nationally ranked. Indiana University has yet to get a 2014 commitment.
Here is a look at the ranked players:
Nilijah Ballew (4-stars): No. 28 safety
DeSean Blair (3-stars): No. 96 wide receiver
Reggie Bonnafon (3-stars): No. 38 multipositional athlete
D’Eric Culver (3-stars): No. 40 cornerback
Detric Dukes (3-stars): No. 32 outside linebacker
Isaiah Ford (3-stars): No. 58 wide receiver
Michael Johnson (3-stars): No. 45 safety
Jeff Williams (3-stars): No. 38 outside linebacker
**U of L’s class is ranked No. 9 nationally.
**U of L had nine of its 16 high school signees in 2013 ranked at their positions.
Drew Barker (4-stars): No. 5 pro-style quarterback (No. 117 overall)
Dorian Hendrix (3-stars): No. 25 inside linebacker
Mikel Horton (4-stars): No. 12 running back (No. 131 overall)
Darryl Long (3-stars): No. 23 tight end
Thaddeus Snodgrass (4-stars): No. 29 wide receiver (No. 205 overall)
Kobie Walker (3-stars): No. 31 outside linebacker
**UK’s class is ranked No. 19.
**In 2013, 13 players of UK 18 high school commitments were ranked nationally at their positions. In 2012 (under former coach Joker Phillips), eight of UK’s 24 high school signees were ranked.
